Seven years after its adoption, the DSM Directive is undergoing its scheduled review. The European Commission is assessing whether the Directive has met its objectives and whether reform is needed. At COMMUNIA, we have asked ourselves the same questions. Curious to hear where we landed? Join our online COMMUNIA Salon on 7 May at 15:00 CEST for a deep dive into the Directive’s impact and future.
COMMUNIA’s Legal Director, Teresa Nobre, will present her publication “The Post-DSM Copyright Report,” offering a critical look at key areas of the Directive alongside a set of cross-cutting findings. She will be joined by Ana Lazarova, who has just completed an update of copyrightexceptions.eu, a collaborative project mapping user rights across the EU copyright framework.
We are also delighted to welcome Sabina Tsakova, Deputy Head of the Copyright Unit at the European Commission (DG Connect), who will share insights from the Commission’s own review process.
The discussion will be moderated by Paul Keller, Policy Director at Open Future and President of COMMUNIA.
