Public Domain Day 2024

When: 07.03.2024
Where: Royal Library of Belgium, Kunstberg 28, 1000 Brussels

On January 1st of every year, new works enter the Public Domain. However, often times these works can still end up being inaccessible to the public, despite the fact that, legally speaking, nothing should prevent public access. In order to share experiences and best practices in opening up this material, COMMUNIA, alongside Creative Commons, Europeana, KB Netherlands, meemoo, the Royal Library of Belgium, Sound & Vision and Wikimedia Belgium, is excited to host the Public Domain Day 2024.

This year, we will celebrate the public domain on March 7th at the Royal Library of Belgium (Kunstberg 28, 1000 Brussels).

The day is split into 2 parts, for which you can register separately. The morning session will be in Dutch, French or English, depending on the speaker (slides will always be available in English). The afternoon will be held exclusively in English.

In order to register to attend in-person or online, please visit eventbrite.
